Slow Wine Fair, Bologna 23rd–25th February
From 23rd to 25th February, we took part in Slow Wine Fair, the international event dedicated to “good, clean, and fair wine,” organised by Slow Food and Bologna Fiere.
This edition of Slow Wine Fair placed sustainability at the heart of the entire wine supply chain, bringing together hundreds of winemakers and winegrowers from all regions of Italy and around the world to discuss the future of wine and viticulture. It was a packed programme of meetings and tastings, and we were at the forefront!
Our Historical 2019 was one of the highlights of the masterclass “Vigna vecchia fa buon vino – Old Vine Conference”, featuring a contribution from Michele Bernetti.
The workshop dedicated to old vines explored the value of an invaluable genetic heritage and its potential to produce wines of exceptional quality. It highlighted how historical and experiential layers can prove to be better suited to tackling the challenges of contemporary viticulture.
The masterclass, which featured selections from various regions, was led by Sarah Abbott, founder and director of Swirl Wine Group, alongside Giancarlo Gariglio and Alessandro Marra, editor and deputy editor of the Slow Wine guide.
